Asian American Theatre was a phenomenal way in which Asian Americans could express themselves in an artistic manner whether it be them directing the play, being in the play, or having the play being written about Asian Americans. The arrival of this form of theatre dates back to the 1960's in areas such as California and New York. The types of Asian American theatre varied from those that were played by all Asian American casts but were primarily a westernized piece versus those that were played by all Asian American actors that incorporated Asian American themes and styles in the play.
